Preppy dressing is all about print, color, or pattern- or all three! I have quite a few statement pants in my wardrobe with wild paisleys from the likes of Lilly Pulitzer and Bills Khakis. A pant is an easy way to make a statement with your outfit, and can be toned down with the choice of top.

Above, I've paired a dark red, striped pair of Dries Van Noten pants with a neutral sweater. The pants make the statement, while the conservative choice of sweater helps keep the look relatively toned down. I opted to add bit more interest to the look with studded oxfords by Christian Louboutin.
