Fashion Friday: Change of Seasons

The weather has suddenly turned from nice fall temperatures to what feels like the beginning of a very short time. Were even supposed to see snow here tomorrow in NYC. What do you wear when its cold, windy, and raining but you have plans to go out to a nice restaurant (more on that later!)?

A peacoat, long sleeved polo, bean boots, and scarf sound ideal to me.

Shirt: Ralph Lauren
Jeans: John Varvatos
Boots: LL Bean

Jacket: Theory
Scarf: Gucci

Epaullettes make anything that much better

Fashion Friday: Casual in the City

Last night I had the opportunity to dine at BG at Bergdorf Goodman. What does one wear when dining chez Bergdorfs? The weather felt a lot like fall, so a merino cardigan, polo, and drivers only seemed appropriate.

Cardigans are perfect for fall when you do not need a full on jacket, but need something for the chill in the air. Drivers create the perfect mix of casual yet sophisticated. I was having a "moment" in Central Park:

Cardigan: Rag&Bone
Jeans: Rock&Republic
Polo: Ralph Lauren
Belt: Hermes
Shoes: Prada

What are some of your go to pieces for fall? Dont forget to check out other Fashion Friday posts at Blonde Episodes

Attempted Costume: Spirit Hoods

I am the worst at coming up with Halloween costume ideas- probably why I usually end up not doing anything because I hate not having an awesome costume. Someone recently introduced me to Spirit Hoods. I had never heard of them before so I immediately do some searching around the web, and found out that this west coast based company is pretty popular among celebrities.

My immediate thought? I will make a Halloween costume out of this. I had my eye on the "night owl" one pictured here:

Unfortunately when I finally decided I wanted to order it, it was placed on backorder and wouldn't ship until October 31. I guess other people had the same idea as me. Another Halloween fail

A Saturday Night Out: What I Wore

I did manage to unbury my nose from my books and go out to dinner this past weekend. When your pile of work is taller than you, sometimes its nice to take a break. It was a nice fall evening- not too cold, but cool enough to wear just a light jacket.

Jacket: Ralph Lauren Black Label
Jeans: 7 for all Mankind
Shoes: Louis Vuitton
Belt: Gucci
Watch: Cartier

I am obsessed with Ralph Lauren Black Label. The detailing is amazing...right down to the leather trimmed zippers on the sleeves of my motorcycle jacket

I usually like to wear darker colors at night. What did you wear out this weekend?

A Classic: The Duffle Coat

Although it may feel like 75 outside because of this humidity and rain, Im thinking about fall outwear. My favorite style has to be the duffle or "toggle" coat. Its a classic, preppy style that you cannot go wrong with. Their part of all the major designer collections this fall, and filling department store racks. Who would have guessed, another classic that is back "in style." Here's to classic pieces and cool fall weather.

A Visit to LL Bean

LL Bean, the Maine based brand us Prepsters love. They operate most business through their website, with a few brick and mortar locations- one being in Maine of course. However, LL Bean recently opened up shop near by, so I had to check it out. The store is absolutely huge, and they have an amazing selection of fleeces, flannels, and khakis. Whats not to love?

sorry for the poor Blackberry quality..

I took the opportunity to try on the 10" fleece lined Bean Boots so I knew what size I would be, and they are currently on their way to me :)

Do you love LL Bean?

Rustic Plaids for Fall

Fall is synonymous for the wearing of all things plaid: suits, oxfords, bags. I was never really a huge fan
of wearing plaid because I felt that it could easily give off the hipster vibe. I feel like this season, however, Im going to embrace plaid for fall. I have a few plaid Ralph Lauren classic oxfords in my closet just waiting to be worn.

I love the idea of plaid suits, but really love this plaid peacoat. Its a nice classic update to a classic style. I also find the red color scheme to be a bit different, which I like. Plaids are usually based on browns and dark oranges, but this red and black combination stands out.

Are you loving plaid? Is it a staple in your fall wardrobe, or a thing of the past? Dont forget to link up with Blonde Episodes for Fashion Friday.

A little Overjoyed

For the past few weeks I feel like all Ive been doing is work, work, work. At some points I was beginning to wonder what day it even was. I've been waiting for this Thursday for a while now. You may remember me saying that I have a 5 Day Weekend....well thats going to be here in about 3 hours! :)

This will hopefully be a nice break and a good time to relax a little so I can continue to motor on through this semester. Its times like this when we are really thankful for people like Columbus who get us an extra day off of school or work...right?!?

Did I mention I'm loving this weather as well? Its still warm enough to wear shorts, but cool enough to pair a light sweater with them. I love the look of shorts with a good sweater. Hence my navy Ralph Lauren shorts paired with light grey Brooks Brothers sweater today.

So heres to putting your feet up and relaxing for this upcoming long weekend

Feeling Casual: What I Wore

Its one of those day where I dont feel like putting that much effort into my outfit. This could be caused by the exhausting day I had yesterday, or the fact that you just never know when its going to rain around here anymore. Still, I like to look semi-presentable when stepping out the door.

What I wore:

tshirt: Banana Republic
Sweatshirt: Rag&Bone
Jeans: True Religion
Bag: Louis Vuitton

True Religion

Louis Vuitton

Do you ever have days where you prefer to just be in sweatpants all day, but know that that would be kind of unacceptable?

Im now on Pinterest...I dont really have any idea what I'm doing yet, but you can find me HERE
