Dear New York,
We first got serious about 9 months ago. Things started off pretty well, but then got a little rough- I considered breaking up with you about 3 months into our relationship, but we worked things out, luckily. I have gotten to know you very well, and know that we are the perfect match. Although you are quite lovely, you can be a total bitch sometimes- it gets to be a little too much to handle at times.
You have taught me a lot about myself and who I am and what I want...all things one would want in a relationship, correct? I've especially enjoyed our time together over the past 4 months....no words can really describe them. Looking back, I cannot believe 9 months has flashed before our eyes. I can vividly remember when we met, that hot, humid, August afternoon. I was exhausted.
New York, you have been about 90% real and 10% fictitious. This good bye is more like a "see you later" and we will get through it just fine, I hope. Did you plan this dreary, gray weather for my departure? The mood seems quite fitting.
Yours truly
Awww...you're leaving your beloved city today? I have no doubt that it is mourning your departure. Just remember...a few months of being spoiled at home for the summer is just what the doctor ordered to prepare you for another year in that city that loves you dearly, but can be ever so exhausting :)
ReplyDeleteOh friend, keep looking up!!!I know it's bittersweet. Just think, you will get to see all your family & friends for the summer. Get a tan lifeguarding. Maybe Mom will take you shopping for some GOODIES:)
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a safe trip back home. Don't say good bye, good bye's are permanent! Have a great day with your mom!
