Plage Beau Rivage Nice

The South of France is filled with miles and miles of beaches. From large stones to fine sand, these beaches are simply beautiful and the choices can some times seem overwhelming. I have experienced the beaches of Nice multiple times now, both public and private.

The public beaches of Nice are great, but be prepared for the large stones as they can be quite uncomfortable after a few hours. On a recent trip to Nice, I decided to experience one of the many private beach options along the Promenade des Anglais. I had heard great things about Plage Beau Rivage and had read great reviews about the beach as well.

Let me just say that one trip to Beau Rivage turned into 4! If you are looking for the experience a private beach has to offer, I highly recommend trying Beau Rivage. The iconic blue and white strip umbrella and chairs line this section of the beach. I opted for front row chairs which do come at a premium over the other rows, but I do recommend the unobstructed view, especially during high season.

Visting a private beach for the day will definitely be an expense, but the comfort of the chair, the available menu, the service, and amenities all make for a very enjoyable afternoon. A chair, towel, and umbrella will run about 25 euros per person. Full details and reservation are available online.

I recommend the Greek salad for a nice afternoon meal paired with a large bottle of rosé to enjoy throughout the day. You really cannot go wrong!

Celebrating July 4th in the Hamptons

This summer has turned out to be quite hectic with all the responsibilities of post-grad life. A recent vacation to the Hamptons was much appreciated and a much needed break from reality. Spending the week in East Hampton was the perfect way to to end June and celebrate the 4th of July.

The Hamptons for me represent a simplistic beauty, especially within such a close distant to the city and other surrounding areas. The tip of Long Island is absolutely stunning with sprawling beaches, vineyards, and beautiful sunsets. Enjoying the Hamptons is also about embracing the quintessential northeast coastal style, an aesthetic which was well represented in our East Hampton home.

Many have a highly glamourous image in their minds when they think about the Hamptons, however, there is also a casual vibe an aspect at the same time. I love being able to run around town in swim trunks straight from the beach, or grab coffee after a morning workout. It is not always about the all-white outfits and designer bags. What I enjoyed about my most recent trip out east was venturing into Amagansett and Montauk, two neighboring towns which I had not previously visited. I have to say, our dinner at Ruschmeyer's was probably my favorite!

It was a bummer to miss the annual fireworks in Southampton because of the hurricane, but mother nature made up with a beautiful day on Saturday. Simply the perfect beach day!

Classically East Hampton

The Eastern end of Long Island is filled with some of the best natural spaces, especially during the summer month. The Hamptons are the perfect weekend getaway from the sweltering heat of the city during summer months.

This past weekend I spent in East Hampton. It is one of my favorite towns to spend weekends in. The weather was perfect for the beach- no clouds and a slight, persistent breeze. I spent the day on the beach and then lunched and shopped in town. A perfect way to pass a summer day if I say so myself.

East Hampton has a very specific aesthetic that is easily recognizable, as pictured above. A lot of the homes are constructed from light grey wooden shingles as they line the beach. It is home to Main Beach as well, one of the top rated beaches in the country. It is very scenic and perfect for taking walks. Additionally, as you drive or walk through down, you will instantly notice all of the hydrangeas. It seems like almost every picket fence has a row of the colorful flower in a shade of white, blue, or purple in front of them. A shingled house with a white fence and hydrangeas, now that;s classically East Hampton.

Fashion Friday: Beach Time

Its that time of year- 4th of July. Im headed off to the beach for vacation. I planned an outfit that's perfect for immediately heading to the beach upon arrival...its supposed to be super hot outside!
