Another Chapter Closed

I still haven't accepted that fact that another semester has finished. Its so true, it just keeps going by quicker and quicker with each semester. Although my workload seemed to quadruple this semester, I would not trade this semester for another. I met so many amazing new people that filled the space left by those who drifted apart from me.  There was lots of studying to be had, but there was also a lot of fun to be had as well. Here's a small look back at the fall semester.

It started out with Fashions Night Out, and I was very, very, close to Rachel Zoe

It was quite the party at Intermix Meatpacking

My life tended to revolve around dessert

A plaid-themed Tommy Hilfiger houseparty was hosted

I wore fur

Holiday parties were had by all

We donned Burberry

and in the end studied our lives away

Guest Post: Back to School Fashion

It's been a little bit of a crazy week here with all the rain, wind, and more rain....I definitely had to break out the fall clothes sooner rather than later. Classes also started yesterday. All my professors seem like great people...thats what I must keep thinking when I'm slaving away in the library.

Today, Im filling in for Allie over at Sundresses and Smiles. You can read my post about back to school fashion here. Let me know what you think!

speaking of fashion....

This Cant Be A Sign

After a weekend filled with nice weather, although humid, its now pouring on the first day of classes. It looked like it could have stormed at any point the past few days, but it waited until today...lets hope this isn't some kind of indication of the semester to come?

....But I did just spend over $300 on two books, already have work when my classes didnt start, bought a planner that isnt even for this year, and have a 28 page syllabus for one of my classes.

Im still kind of in denial about the fact that once again, the library will probably be just as much my home as my actual room and that my cortisol levels are just going to keep elevating as the weeks progress. Getting back into the swing of things and settling in takes some time. I thought the transition would be slightly quicker. However, I'm finding myself very confused by some people in my life and am adjusting to a new area.

Although today was the official first day of classes, I dont have any classes on Tuesday so I have just one more day with a little relaxation. Despite the pouring rain, I made the trek to the Barney's Warehouse Sale. It wasnt as good as last time- I saw a lot of the same merchandise. I did manage to find a pair of James Perse pants that I love.

The remainder of the day may consist of taking refuge in the library from the rain and planning out this crazy semester ahead...and of course Rachel Zoe tonight!

could this image be any more true?!

Finally, En Route

After months of waiting, rescheduling, and Irene I'm finally moving back to NYC. I just hope this excitement isn't for nothing and that everything goes well and picks up where it left off! We got an early start...4 am!! Definitely going to be exhausted after waking up so early and the many little arguments that arise while moving.

*fingers crossed*

Time is Speeding

via

I remember moving home for the summer in May thinking how am I ever going to survive the next three and a half months here? It's hard to believe, but those 3.5 months have passed me by. Here I am getting ready to head back to school again. Time has a very funny way about it. Excitement dominates my emotions, but those feelings of uncertainty and nervousness  still exist.

This past summer was definitely different than any summer I was used to. I guess this is expected once you come back from college. I try to look back at some of the events as a learning experience, yet I still have regret and many mixed feelings about certain things. Understanding the way people are is certainly a challenge for me- am I few and far between for thinking most people lack common courtesy?

There is a lot to look forward to, however. While I may spend hours and what feels like my entire life at the library, I look forward to the challenge ahead. I look forward to being with friends I wasnt able to be with during the summer, and all I hope is that our friendships and relationships are the same prior to leaving. Everyone says once you get back and into the swing of things, everything is the same- personally, I have some hesitations about this.

As my last week of so called relaxation quickly passes by, I can feel myself slowly slipping into the "fast lane" so to speak. I tend to find myself best suited when I am constantly busy, but the onset of being overwhelmed with Financial Accounting problems and group presentations...well..overwhelms me. This week consists of tying up loose ends, running here and there for last minute essentials, and have dinners with family members. Oh, and did i mention packing? My pile has grown a little bit since earlier in the week:

Im keeping a close eye on the weather forecast, and lets all hope Irene, if she hits up, will be on sunday and not monday! Trekking all my stuff through a hurricane in NYC is not my idea of fun!

Wordless Wednesday: Ivy League Style

While many of us may not go to an Ivy League school, we still dress the part. Classic "ivy league" or "campus style" is, of course, one of my favorite things.
