French Eyewear VUARNET Relaunched in US

I am definitely a sucker for a great pair of shades, explained by my drawer filled with at least 20 pairs of designer sunnies. I think they are a great addition to an outfit any time of the year, whether summer or winter. Additionally, all the different shapes and styles available today make for a vast amount of choices and an endless way to change up your look simply by adding a piece of eyewear.

When I was recently introduced to VUARNET, I knew I had to share. I was new to the brand and found the heritage to be quite interesting. VUARNET was founded in 1957 by French opticians, and since inception has been committed to the highest quality eye protection. The company owns its own lens production facility in France. As a result, VUARNET eyewear become the choice of the elite on Europes ritziest slopes in the 1960s.

With the 2014 relaunch in the US, the brand is still committed to this European design and quality which it was known for many years ago. CEO Sefano Fabris says, "We are beyond thrilled to be relaunching in the US where VUARNET is positioned to reemerge as the luxury leader in the eyewear industry."

The winter 2014 collection features a few different styles from clip-on to acetate lifestyle looks. I must say, I am loving the "jet set" look of all the pieces in this collection. Below are a few of my favorite glasses debuting in 2014:

Whether on the slopes of Courchevel or the streets of SoHo, these glasses are sure to make a fashionable statement. I know I am hoping to add a pair to my collection. VUARNET will be widely available in Los Angeles and New York as well as high-end optical boutiques in Boston, Miami, Palm Beach, Portland, Scottsdale, Salt Lake City, San Diego, and Aspen.

Garrett Leight California Optical Offers CYO

Sunglasses are one of my go-to accessories year round, whether its sunny and 80 degrees or sunny and 10 degrees. They add so much style to a look with minimal effort. Garrett Leight Optical California Optical has been crafting stylish, quality eyewear for quite some time. Their frames are simple and classic- I love the minimalistic designs to a lot of the pieces.

The company recently introduced what they are calling the "Mod Shop." The Mod Shop allows anyone to customize frames according to model, size, frame color, and lens color. Additionally, users can mattify any style, thus the options are virtually endless! The 3D rendering and 360 degree views create a refreshing online shopping experience.

Some of my favorite styles from GLOC are able to be modified, including the classic "Hampton Clip" which is iconic to the brand. This particular frame is perfect for that modern, preppy look. That being said, out with the standard and in with the custom!

Fall Accessory: Aviators by Randolph

When it comes to accessories, sunglasses are one of my absolute favorite. I could buy a new pair every day, and I feel they can really add a finishing touch to an entire look. Furthermore, I find nothing quite as chic as a cool weather ensemble, wether chunky cardigan or coat, finished with an amazing pair of sunglasses. That being said, sunglasses are the perfect fall accessory. I personally love the aviator style with its roots to preppy style.

I was recently exposed to Randolph Engineeringm known for their handcrafted eyewear, and the launch of their new Aviator II based on classic style. I always love discovering new brands and Randolph is no exception. The brand has been manufacturing sunglasses in the US sine 1972. They stand by there quality by offering a lifetime warranty on solder joints, and have eve been supplying eyewear to the military for over 30 years- a true statement of quality.

The new Aviator II model is rebirth of the classic aviator style. Currently it is offered in a 23K gold plating with tortoise accent pieces.

I was highly impressed with the quality of these sunglasses. When I picked them up, I could feel the difference in weight compared to other designer glasses I own, and trust me, I own a lot! As mentioned above, they are made in the US and the joint are covered by a lifetime warranty.

So why do I love these aviators for fall? I think the 23K gold plating goes perfectly with many fall colors. Below, I've paired them with a fall essential, a navy cashmere cable knit sweater:

I love the gold next to the navy. They would even look great with my military shirt inspired look. The gold would look great next to dark maroons, olives, and browns-all fall essentials. You can purchase the newly released Randolph Aviator II's on their website.

Note: This post was made possible by Randolph Engineer. All opinions expressed are my own.

Favorite Friday: TOMS

We love this brand for its initiative and corporate social responsibility, but lets face it, TOMS are so comfortable and easy/perfect for summer. I have a nautical pair, crazy green and blue stipes, and a limited edition NYC print from FNO.

I'm loving these from the TOMS website:

The brand has also recently launched and eyewear collection. You may recall my obsession with sunglasses here.
I may have to add a pair of these to my collection because the price is great and they look great!
