Enjoying Fall

Autumn is one of the most enjoyable seasons. In the fall, I find myself with renewed energy from summer as well as looking forward to the year ahead. Living in the city, it can sometimes be hard to fully enjoy all that the season has to offer. We can enjoy things like lattes in hand, sweater weather, and a few changing leaves, but a lot is left out.

I recently took a short trip into the "country" where fall is quite evident in the changing leaves and shorter days. It is nice to escape the city and truly enjoy a bit of the season. Homes are decorated with pumpkins and corn shocks and there was a slight chill in the air.

Sometimes its the small things that you miss upon moving to the city. A short getaway is always necessary, and this one came at the perfect timing.

Weekend in the Country

The city is so invigorating and filled with energy, but after a bit of time I find it to be extremely draining, even in the summer. I reached one of these points recently where all I could think about was getting out of the city, just for a bit of time. While most Manhattanites escape to the Hamptons on summer weekends, I escaped home to the country.

A simple, slow-paced way of life filled with greenery and fresh air. My major reasoning for having to go home wasnt great, but it was great to spend a bit of time at home. It was definitely needed before school is in full force...only 2 weeks away!! :(

Country Preppy

What comes to mind when a prepster thinks of dressing for spending time in the country? A few things come to my mind: Chunky SweatersBarbour, good boots, Ralph Lauren, and LL Bean. Its always effortless, and there is always sure to be a pop of color or print. The country style is iconic of the preppy look. Good, classic pieces are among my favorites.

Vest: Ralph Lauren
Sweater: Lilly Pulitzer

Boots: Ralph Lauren Collection

Do you like the classic, country style?
