Summer Goodbye with Flutes and Floats

Unless you are an absolute ski bunny, you probably do not enjoy saying goodbye to summer, or it does not top your list of "favorite things to do." Saying goodbye to warm weather, long days, and relaxation is always hard each time the calendar begins to approach Labor Day.

I celebrated the end of summer and the last warm days with a fun party that is easy to replicate, fun, and the perfect way to say au revoir to #endlesssummer. A "Flutes and Floats" party fits the bill with pool fun and glasses of bubbly.

Pool floats have become all the rage the past few summers with the fun designs filling my Instagram feed. We got a variety of floats from Fun Boy, the brand that really started the "float life" revolution with that infamous white swam. The floats became the central idea for a party and what pairs better with sun, pool, and float than a little champagne? Hence the theme "Flutes and Floats" was born.

Preparation was beyond easy requiring the cleansing of some champagne flutes and filling up a few ice buckets to keep everything chilled. The rest was pure fun! We hosted as an early evening affair, so we paired light bites and cheese plates with the champagne and rosé cocktails.

Flutes and Floats made saying goodbye to summer a little bit easier, and I think it will become an annual tradition! How are you celebrating the end of the summer season?

Top Holiday Gift Picks for Women

I have always found it easier to shop for women rather than men....maybe because there is something out there that a woman will always want. Other the other hand, men have the famous line of "I don't need anything!"

As a follow up to my gift selections for men I have curated a list of my selections for women. I have included some of the top brands on their radar from Kate Spade and Tory Burch to Jo Malone. These gifts span an array of price ranges and tastes/styles.

From the wine lover to the fashionista, hover over the image below to shop my favorite gifts for women this holiday season!

Celebrations

To say that the past week and a half have been hectic would be quite an understatement. It was the end of an era as I finished my undergraduate career recently, started a move, and continue the search for that perfect job.

Graduations turned into holidays as we celebrated a surprisingly warm and sunny Memorial Day this week. There has been a lot to celebrate as I welcome the summer with open arms. Celebrations can be big or small, but they are always necessary! For me, a large celebration is not always needed- a bottle of good champagne and good company is perfect.

As the book closes on this major part of my life (how is college over?!) I am excited for the upcoming summer and future, but not without a nervous undertone. It is definitely an exciting time, however. In the meantime, I will be sure to be enjoying champagne by the pool and maybe even host a summer party.

Cheers!

Clicquot in the Snow

There has been so much snow in the northeast its actually getting quite ridiculous. I think all of us up here have entered this weird state of mind where we are still shocked that we get at least 2-4 inches every 2-3 days but at the same time expect this uninvited party guest by this point. This past weekend was quite more, picking up 20 inches where I was.

Fortunately I was able to escape the slushy, unable to walk around, city and get into the suburbs and buckle down for this big winter storm. With so much snow, I have learned to just embrace it and go with it because we will not be seeing a blade of grass any time soon.

With Valentine's Day right after the big storm, what better way to celebrate than with a little champagne of course? Well we took advantage of the feet of snow on the ground, a warm fire, pretended we were in Aspen perhaps, and made the best of it. I cannot complain about a little (or a magnum) of Clicquot in the snow!

How did you celebrate?
