Lavish New Year's Eve

Here it is, almost the end of 2011 already. With New Year's Eve right around the corner, don't we all wish we could attend lavish celebrations to ring in the new year? Im not huge into New Year's celebrations, but if I could wear a Tom Ford blazer, Im all for it. Anyone have any fun plans for tomorrow night? If you do, I highly recommend pulling out your sequins and fur and do not leave your red bottoms at home.

Few Words

The loss of a friend is not something that can be described. No one deserves to abruptly have their life taken away especially someone so young. Just beginning to live their dream.

I had plans for Christmas recaps and sharing everything new, however, its hard to express anything at the moment. I may be taking a personal break from here for a short time.

A Polished Holiday

I believe a lot of us feel pressure to impressive our relatives when were all together at the holidays. With one of the biggest ones just around the corner, do you have your outfit ready for Christmas dinner? Looking put together doesnt have to be a challenge.

Pick festive patterns like intarsia and fair isle and pair a great sweater with a blazer...you cant go wrong.

Another Chapter Closed

I still haven't accepted that fact that another semester has finished. Its so true, it just keeps going by quicker and quicker with each semester. Although my workload seemed to quadruple this semester, I would not trade this semester for another. I met so many amazing new people that filled the space left by those who drifted apart from me.  There was lots of studying to be had, but there was also a lot of fun to be had as well. Here's a small look back at the fall semester.

It started out with Fashions Night Out, and I was very, very, close to Rachel Zoe

It was quite the party at Intermix Meatpacking

My life tended to revolve around dessert

A plaid-themed Tommy Hilfiger houseparty was hosted

I wore fur

Holiday parties were had by all

We donned Burberry

and in the end studied our lives away

Final Final

This morning was my final final...its pretty much killed me to say the least. I think I officially know now that I dont fully understand bonds, leases, stock, and stockholder equity. But that's all in the past. Th3 past 4 or 5 days my life was basically this:

But the fall semester has come to a close with me coming out of it not being able to think straight. Im off to the station to head home, anticipating this month of relaxing ahead!

Tartan For the Holidays

Tartan, the classic plaid fabric we all know- usually done in green/red or a red/white combination. There's no better time to wear tartan than at the holidays. Wool pants, wool skirts, ties, bags...maybe even a flask. I think the pattern screams classic, preppy, and sophisticated which is evident in Ralph Lauren's mastery at incorporating it into his holiday collection each year.

Pair it with a sweater, match your date, and maybe even pair it with an ugly holiday sweater for those infamous parties....you cant go wrong.

A Gift List for Him

After spending 20+ hours in the library this weekend, I needed a little study break so I came up with what I think is the perfect gift list. I would take one or everything on this list. It includes a mix of classic pieces as well as some things that are currently "in" right now. Either way, theres something to fit everyone. That person that loves a tie every year, a great sweater, or some awesome utility boots

See You on the Other Side

I'll see every one on the other side...of finals that is.  I unfortunately do not have the time right now to commit to making good posts because I need to focus everything I have on these last few days of the semester. After all, Business School is quite demanding. Im going to try to stick with the following motto for finals.

I will be back some time next week!

New York Holiday Windows

Its a tradition to stroll 5th avenue each year and look at the holiday windows that all the stores put up. Bergdorf Goodman never ceases to amaze with their over the top displays. However, the Cartier package just might be my favorite every year.

Winter Essentials

I think the weather may have finally decided to be normal...for December that is. Living in an area with cold winter weather demands a few things to keep you warm, namely a good coat and a scarf. I love winter coats and cannot seem to stop buying them. I have soo many- wool, down, toggle coats, short, long you name, I probably have it.

This season I'm into the puffy down ski jackets, and more neutral colored, simple scarves. So heres my current go to winter weather picks. (Im in love with a fur trimmed collar).

Jacket: Moncler

Scarf: Black Fleece, Thom Browne for Brooks Brothers

What's your favorite type of winter outerwear or essential?
